On the 15th of March we had our second improvisation assessment it went very well with high quality sound, I thought our tutor Robin was going to jump for joy. We all had flourishing solos starting quietly then building up to quite loud, we were playing Autumn Leaves and Bessie's Blues. The group really gels and we support each other well through each of the pieces we play. I used some augmented voicings such as 9ths and 13ths in both pieces. Autumn Leaves was based in the Dorian Mode which has implications for the IIm7chord in which I used the b13 which I should have avoided. Bessie's Blues is in the Lydian mode which was easier as there were no notes I had to avoid.
