My friend Jill Reeves, who is a music teacher at St. Crispin's school in Edinburgh, has asked me to help her out by playing my Celtic Harp for their entry for the Fiesta class in the Edinburgh Performance Festival on Wednesday 29th of February. We are having a rehearsal for this on Wednesday 22nd feb. with the young people at St. Crispin's.
On Saturday I attended the Na Clarsairean (the Edinburgh branch of the Clarsach Society) annual Burns Bash led by Charlotte Peterson: my Lever Harp teacher for four years. We managed to learn three tunes before having our haggis supper ; repertoire included, Duncan Gray, Tae Dauntin' Me and A Man's a Man for au That. Over all the event was very enjoyable. Christine Macleod made lovely haggis, as always!
On Saturday the 21st of January my harp club is having an anual Burns Bash at Craiglockhart Parish Church. This consists of playing a few tunes arranged for us by my old harp teacher Charlotte Petterson who's also running the event and then, after the rehearsal, we're going to have haggis, neeps and tatties made by my friend Calum Macleods mum, Christine. I'm really looking forward to this event as it is one of the highlights of the harp groups year. Good luck Na Clarsairean! I can't wait for haggis!!
