I watched a BBC programme about the composer Karl Jenkins which I found very interesting and I learnt the following information:
Karl Jenkins is a Welsh born composer who studied at Cardiff University followed by a post grad at the Royal Academy in London. He is married to Carol Barrett Jenkins: composer and teacher. They have a son Jodie Jenkins who is also a musician and composer who particularly focuses on composing film music.
In the 1970's Karl Jenkins was in the Jazz/Rock bands Nucleus and Soft Machine. He has created music for television adverts, working at the television ad agency, Bartie, Bogle and Hegarty and his big break was composing the music for the ad for Delta Airlines called Adiemus in 1995. Other works include: The Armed Man (1999, a Mass for choir and Orchestra) and The Peacemakers (2012, a choral work). According to Classical Charts he is the most performed British composer of our time and is popular worldwide.
I personally find Karl Jenkins' music very relaxing but also I find his harmonic and melodic ideas very interesting because he uses a lot of polyphony and homophony.
